Infill Industrial Acquisition & Development
ViaWest Group’s investment at 5 South Commerce Center in Salt Lake City reflects its strategy of assembling and developing infill industrial sites in core distribution corridors. In early 2022, ViaWest acquired a 40,709 square foot industrial building along with an additional 11 acres of adjacent land. The land was subsequently developed into a 172,847 square foot Class A warehouse featuring 32-foot clear heights, dock-high and grade-level loading, and modern design specifications.
The new development was completed in late 2023 and was fully leased shortly thereafter to a national logistics tenant. In parallel, ViaWest sold the adjacent, fully leased 40,709 square foot building at 3255 W. 500 South. Both properties were sold between late 2024 and early 2025 in separate transactions, one to an institutional group and the other to a private buyer.
